Presbyterian Church

-----

The Presbyterian Church was erected in 1825, a small log house which served its purpose for a number of years, when its place was taken by a larger and more suitable structure, erected by the joint efforts of the different denominations. Some difficulty arising in the management, the Methodists transferred their interests to the Presbyterians, who subsequently became the exclusive owners. The congregation is in good condition.

In 1824 or ’25, a small log church was erected by the Presbyterians at Transfer, and used for a number of years, when it was replaced by a more convenient union building, erected by the different Evangelical denominations.  Dissensions subsequently arose, and the Methodists signed over their interest to the Presbyterians, and it has since been know as a Presbyterian Church.
