Jane Hays Johnson


		Jane Hays Johnson Jane Hays Johnson was the daughter of David and Mary Hays. Her father David Hays was a school teacher in Mercer County up until 1814. He first taught school on the Henry Hoagland farm on the West side of the Shenango River. Jane married John Johnson circa 1795. They were the parents of eight children: Mary b. circa 1795 m. Samuel Caldwell Sr. Hannah b. 1796 m. Israel Coon Amy b. 1800/02 m. John Tumilson William b. 1802 m. Catherine. Buried in Shenango Cemetery, Greenville, Mercer Co., Pa. John b. 1806 Jane b. 1810 m. Samuel Caldwell Jr. Martha b. circa 1813 m. Lewis Waldo (Joseph?) Smith Johnson b. 1818 m. Nancy Mattox Jane Johnson died 13 Mar 1842 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery.
