John Carmen Hawthorne
John
Carmen Hawthorne owned his farm on Rt. 208, east of Leesburg, and loved farming. Although, he had to work at the Quality Tool Corp in New Wilmington to earn an adequate living.
However, he managed to also raise registered Jersey cattle, sell milk, and grow the necessary crops.
Carmen was a graduate of Mercer High
School.
Carmen was born 7 Jan 1906 in East Lackawannock Twp, Mercer County.
He died 20 May 1981 and is buried in Leesburgh
Cemetery.
