Sarah and Paul Eberhart came to Hickory Township from
Westmoreland County sometime before 1820 when they were enumerated on the Mercer County census.
Paul died in 1865, after which time Sarah lived with her son
Reuben and his family.
Between 1870 and 1880, Sarah moved with
Reuben to Jones County, Iowa, where her daughters
Susanna and Sarah and son
Hiram were living.
Reuben, with Sarah still in the household, migrated on to Delaware County,
Iowa, before Sarah's death on 7 February 1891 at the age of 92. She is
buried in the Hopkinton Cemetery.
