WELZ posted by Nancy Crawford on Friday, April 10, 1998

I am searching for any information on my Great Aunt, Caroline WELZ who lived in East Stroudsburg, PA. She moved there from Manhattan, NY some time after 1956. She was born between 1880-1895 in the area of Hungary that is now known as Romania. She is thought to have also lived in Budapest, Hungary before coming to the USA, probably before 1907. She had lived in Perth Amboy, NJ with her husband, Max WELZ, a chef. She ran a rooming house. They never had any children. After Max's death she moved to Manhattan where she lived and ran a rooming house at 230 E 69th Street until (at least) the late 1950s. I met her at this time and remember that she had a parrot. Then she moved to East Stroudsburg where she died.
