COLE, EARL, EARLE, HEATON, JAYNE, LOVE, PLACE, RAY, REE, REH, REY, SHOEMAKER, SWARTWOOD, THOMAS posted by James Hannum on Monday, November 2, 1998

In 1772, the Minisink Church records show the birth of Susannah LOVE to James and Mary COLE LOVE. Susannah later married James EARLE and moved to Luzerne Co, PA. I'd love to exchange info with other LOVE researchers. I would like to exchange information about the following persons located in Lower Smithfield Twp in the 1770/1790 time frame: Ebenezer JAYNE, Daniel SHOEMAKER, John and Moses RAY (REH, REY, REE) and Susannah THOMAS. Looking for information about James PLACE, who bought land in Lower Smithfield Twp. about 1786 from James EARL (who had migrated to Luzerne Co.). James continued to live there in the 1790 census. My interest is in finding the exact location of his property. Others who likely lived there before 1790 were Ebenezer and Edward EARL. In the 1780s, James PLACE and Joseph HEATON lived in Lower Smithfield Twp of what would become Monroe County. I'd like to find out what happened to them. Some say the EARL family, who also lived there at the same time, married into the HEATON family by way of a daughter, Mary HEATON. I am looking for any information on the Ebenezer, James and Edward EARL folk who lived in Lower Smithfield Twp of Monroe County in the 1780s and 1790s, when the township was Northampton County. A Martha EARL who married James SWARTWOOD may have been their sister.

BARRY, BARTH, RAMSBERGER posted by Gloria C. Gaddy on Sunday, January 24, 1999

My grandfather's parents were married in Monroe Co. PA, in May of 1886, and were both residents of Tannersville. His name was Howard BARRY and her maiden name was Susan (or possibly Sarah) BARTH. They had two children, Harry E. and Mabel. Howard BARRY was possibly a farmer when he got married, but later owned a sawmill. Susan was born in America, but at least one parent was German. Harry married Lula RAMSBERGER of Monroe Co., who died in childbirth in 1906. He then moved to New York and remarried. As far as I can tell, they were all Methodists and some are buried in the Tannersville area in Meth. cemetaries. Any information on these families, or possibilities of links (similar names, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Would also be glad to share any info I already have.
