GAUER-MUSICK - Found in an old box and could not throw away. Will forward to anyone interested. Not my family that I can see. We lose the Gauer name there in Monroe Co.. Letters from DEWEY GAUER, San Francisco, CA, 1936 to Mrs. Billie Musick, Atlanta, GA and 1938 to a Mrs. A. H. Musick, Akron, Ohio. Both letters have salutation, "Dear Bill". Has copy of fabulous family group picture taken late 1800's, early 1900's. One studio picture of gentleman (probably Dewey) from San Francisco. Letter wants to know if you are going to vote for Hoover this year? Mentions a Laura, Elaine, Maura?, Kate, and Virginia.

Looking for more information on the family of John Miller,of Monroe or Northampton County. Two of his sons, Peter (1802-1876), and Abraham (b. cir. 1812) migrated to Cattaraugus Co. New York in 1827. I have much to share about the NY descendants, but need the PA backround, like John's wife's name.

Ok..we are learning more on the KIPLE family line. We've got George & Sarah with their children Sarah Ann and George Washington in the 1850 Census of Coolbaugh T, Monroe Co. PA....BUT then we believe George (Henry?) Kiple dies and his widow and eldest daughter move to Luzerne County. All the rest of the family finally leaves the county...BUT...we are VERY sure that George "Senior" dies in Monroe County around 1850-1860 and would love to hear suggestions, ideas and clues! Thanks!

I have just recently discovered that my GGG Grandfather, George Franklin MUSSELMAN was born in Northampton Co., PA in about 1823. Since Monroe and Carbon Counties were part of Northampton County at that time, I'm posting this message, here. George married Anna Topping in about 1847, probably in Albany, NY. He lived in Marion, Wayne Co., NY in 1860 and had 6 children, Mary, Louise, Charles, Theodore, Harriet, and Elizabeth. George F. Musselman signed his name as "MUFSELMAN" on his enlistment papers when he joined the 9th Reg't of the NY Vol. Artillery in 1863 in Auburn, NY. George later moved to Hutchinson, Davison, and Brule Co.'s in South Dakota. He died in Brule Co., SD in 1885. I am looking for any information on possible parents and siblings of his from Northampton Co., PA.

I would like to find out where in Germany Paul UEBERFELD came from. His descendants are numerous in Monroe Counry, through the years, and the name was chaned to Overfield. He was a blacksmith, and in 1748 he lived at the house of Susanah Ray, widow in 1746 of John Ray, who had also been a blacksmith. I am working on the hunch that when John Ray died in 1746, his widow invited Paul to come from Germany and take over the business. John Ray got a warrant in the place that now is Shawnee on Delaware, in
1738; he was married to Susannah Thomas (Ray) who remarried Juriean Tappan in 1750.
Thus, I`m interested to know if anybody has traced the Overfield geneology back to Germany?

Back in 1997 I posted a query looking for my wife's ELTZ family. Since that post, my father-in-law has provided new information which I have validated with the 1920 Federal Census. I am now seeking any information anyone may have with regard to the following family. Charles S. ELTZ was born ca 1877 in PA. He married ca 1907, Ida ? (believe maiden name was BUSH) who was also born in PA ca 1888. They had at least 3 children all born in PA: Melvin ELTZ b. ca 1907; Kirk ELTZ (my father-in-law) b. ca 1916; and May E. ELTZ b. ca 1919. Melvin may have been a child of a previous marriage of Charles ELTZ. Charles ELTZ was a freight wagon driver for the railroad out of Stroudsburg. Would welcome any information on this family.

Please let me explain that first and foremost I am not trying to upset anyone's lives, I'm just trying to find out medical background information.
My Father Gerald George Roessler was born in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 24th 1935 or 1934 I believe. He was adopted into the Roessler Family. I was able to find out that his birth name was Francis Dillon, and his Biological Parents names were Margaret Hines, and I believe his father's name was Charles Dillon, it is my understanding that his father was killed in an auto accident prior to his birth.
It is my hope that perhaps you can check with family members and see if anyone recalls something like this happening. You see I have two brothers and two sisters who all have children as well as my self. It seems that so much of our medical history is a blank because we know nothing of our father's biological medical tree. I would really appreciate it if you could check with family members for me so perhaps we can fill in a lot of blanks. I do realize that both of his biological parents are probably not living…but maybe you or another older relative may recall the names. It is quite possible that the families knew one another the Roessler's and the Dillon's or Hines because the information I have was passed on to my mother from my fathers adopted Step Mother.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Looking for anyone related to a George SAVAGE who lived in Chestnut Hill, Monroe Co, and is listed in the 1790 Census with wife and several children. I could not find him on the tax list of 1791. I believe he is the father of GEORGE WASHINGTON SAVAGE who was from Chester, Berks and Montgomery Counties. His (Geo W Savage) widow, Charlotte KIRST MOHR SAVAGE, is buried in Mt Zion cemetary in Pottstown PA (born 1827, died 1902). She was my gr gr gr grandmother.
