Looking for relatives of Jacob and Sally Sax, born 1801 and 1800 respectively in Tobyhannah Twnship, Monroe County. They had a son Perry, born about 1832, who married Sabina born about 1836. One of their children, William Franklin, was born about 1866, and was my great-grandfather, marrying Almeda Stubbs, daughter of William Henry Stubbs, born 1836. The Sax/Saxe/Sox lived in Fern Ridge area, a town Soxville, shows on an 1860 map. Have never found Jacob or Perry's graves in Blakeslee/Stoddartsville/Effort/Pocono Lake area. Trying to track the Jacob Sax family to its European roots. Trying to track Joseph/Martha Stubbs to their Yorkshire and Cheshire birthplaces, respectively.

My gg-grandmother was Maryann BROWN. Maryann married a SMITH. I know she had a brother Charles, who owned lakefront property on Lake Harmony. His property was on the main road. As a small child, I don't remember making any turns to get to his place. They also had a brother Clyde who was a schoolteacher while in Japan. I know that there was an Aunt Emmy, who was married twice, and an Aunt Viola, who lived in Upstate New York and had three children. I believe that Aunt Emmy and Aunt Viola lived with Charles, or near him, later in their lives. I do remember the piano near the window. One of the Aunts played often. The house next door also belonged to Charles, I think. Remember, I was about ten the last time we visited and I've reached a 1/3 of a century. Dina SMITH ADAMCHICK
