CHRISTMAN, EVERETT, GOWER, SILVERTHORN, VAN BUSKIRK, YOUNG posted by Diana Scott on Sunday, May 14, 2000: Searching for the CHRISTMAN Brothers that lived with John and Maria YOUNG. On the 1850 census, Monroe County, Ross Township, PA. John is listed at 57 years old, Maria 40 years old, Peter YOUNG 29 years, Mary YOUNG 8 years, Anthony CHRISTMAN 13, and Dawalt CHRISTMAN 10 years old. Why were these CHRISTMAN brothers living with the YOUNG'S? Possible related or friends. The name GOWER could be related to the CHRISTMAN'S. Dawalt CHRISTMAN married Mary Ann VAN-BUSKIRK, and Anthony CHRISTMAN married Tacy SILVERTHORN. Mary Ann VAN-BUSKIRK remarried after Dawalt died, to James EVERETT. I would greatly appreciate any information. Thank You.

BERGER, SAX, SCHWEITZER, STUBBS posted by Harlan Berger on Tuesday, June 6, 2000: Today received a PAMonroe posting from geri felker that that listed someone serving as Sgt in Company F. Irish Inf. A company with that national designation served in the Pa. Bucktails, a regiment, I believe, number in the 90s. The company was raised mostly in Carbon County, primarily from the Mauch Chunk area. Anyone know for sure? Did a company also mostly of Irish serve in the 67th Pennsylvania? My great-grandfather William Henry Stubbs served in the 67th.

My ancestor is Erma Augusta RUEHLMAN b. 1862 White Oak Run Monroe Co and died in Kingston, Luzerne Co. and married Charles WERKHEISER of Tannersville. Her parents were, I believe, Johann Frederick RUEHLMAN b. in Germany and Elizabeth EHLER b. in Germany. Anyone know anything on these folks?
