AM, Somerset American Legion, PA Dept Lincoln Day Luncheon
(Reservations need to be to Gary Fike by Feb. 1st.)
March 18th, Sunday, Meeting - Mt. Union Church.
Program: Civil War Flea Market and Auction. Please bring
items for sale.
March 31, Saturday, Maple Festival Parade at 3:00 PM. Be
at Martin & Jennifer Hurl’s house at 223 6th Ave. by
2:15 PM. Phone 634-9506. You may use their house to dress,
if needed. Those who can’t walk may ride the wagon.
April 15, Sunday, Meeting, Mt Union
Church. Business: Discuss Memorial Ceremony in Meyersdale
Union Cemetery in May.
May 19th, Saturday. Addison National Pike Festival. Josh
Sechler is Chairman. People are needed to help. More
information will be provided at the regular meetings in
March and April.
May 20th, Sunday, Wreath Laying, Meyersdale Union
Cemetery on 7th Ave. Go to the old part of the cemetery. In
case of bad weather, the service will be at Zion Lutheran
Church on the corner of Center and Broadway Sts.

June 17th, Sunday, Meeting at Mt. Union Church
June 21st-23rd. Thursday evening till Friday evening. PA
Department meeting of the Allied Orders of the Grand Army of
the Republic. Four Points Sheraton at Greensburg. (Across
from Westmoreland Mall). Our Camp is in charge of the
entertainment for the evening banquet on Saturday night.
Please try to attend even if you can only go one day. This
is a good opportunity to meet many persons from all over the
State of Pennsylvania. Please remember that to be admitted
to the meetings, you must have credentials to get in to the
meeting. Commander Alcorn can get these for you. Remember
this is an election year. Mt Union Church Camp is trying to
become involved with State Offices and Committees.
July 8th, Sunday. Allegiance Sunday at Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church, Main St. Berlin, PA. (Parking in the rear
of the church) This is a joint service between the
Auxiliary, Sons, and Daughters of Union Veterans, Sons and
Daughters of the American Revolution, Somerset County Pomona
Grange, and Odd Fellows Lodges of Somerset County. Please
plan to attend this wonderful service.
July 15th at 4:00 PM (note time change) Annual Picnic,
meeting & program. All Allied Orders are invited.
Auxiliary will provide the meat and drinks.
Aug. 19th, Sunday, Meeting at Mt Union Church.
Sept. 16th, Sunday, Meeting at Mt Union and Election of
Officers.
Sept. 22nd, Saturday, Double Confederate Civil War, You
must have a ticket to be admitted to the Church. Outside
seating will be available unless it’s raining.
Oct. 21st Sunday, meeting at Mt Union. Installation
of Officers
Nov. 3rd, Saturday. Civil War Gala. Social Hall at
Friedens Lutheran Church. Please bring a period dessert for
the buffet table. Auxiliary and Sons will be responsible for
drinks. Some of you may have tickets from last year's
weather cancellation.
Nov. 4th, Sunday, Meeting at Mt Union following the
Church Service. We will discuss Remembrance Day activities
in Gettysburg. (Church Service: Civil War All Saints and
Thanksgiving. This service starts at 2:00 PM, Please dress
in Civil War attire.)
Nov. 17th, Saturday, Remembrance Day, Gettysburg.
11:00 AM Wreath Laying at the Woolson Memorial for all
Allied Orders.
2:00 PM Remembrance Day Parade. We need Auxiliary and
Sons to march in the Parade.
5:30 – 9:00 PM Luminaries in the National Cemetery.
9:00 PM National Civil War Ball, Eisenhower Hotel, 2634
Emmitsburg Rd, Gettysburg, PA
Dec. 16th, Sunday, 2:00 PM Meeting & Christmas Party,
New Centerville Fire Hall
Program: Passing of the Gavel.
Covered dish dinner will follow the meeting. Sons will
provide meat and drinks.
*Note: Time and place may change during the year. Please

for changes. Please encourage non-members to visit our
meetings and encourage new membership. All members of the
Allied Orders are welcome. Over the years, the programs
following our meetings have been outstanding and
educational. Anyone is welcome to do a program. See Clark
