OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society are to encourage and promote the accurate recording and preservation of family data, vital statistics and history pertaining to both direct ancestors and to others related to, or otherwise associated with a specific family line and inter-related families; to provide instruction in methods of obtaining such information and to instill an appreciation of how ancestors' lives intertwined with local and national history.

MEETINGS: The meetings of the society, to be announced.

NEWSLETTER: The newsletter of the society is published quarterly, in March, June, September and December. It is mailed on or about the first of the month to all current members. Members are encouraged to submit articles for publication.

QUERIES: Members are allowed one free query, up to 60 words, per newsletter. For each additional word, .25 cents will be charged. For non-members, the charge is $3.00 per query, each limited to 30 words.

MEMBERSHIPS: Household memberships are on an annual basis. The anniversary renewal month is shown on the address label of your newsletter. Life and Contributing memberships are also available.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS AND/OR TELEPHONE NUMBER: Please advise us of any change in mailing addresses six (6) weeks in advance of the mailing date for the next newsletter. Send both old and new address, to the Secretary, Northeast PA Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 1776, Shavertown, PA 18707-0776.
