John Redic

 

REV. JOHN REDIC who was married to a sister of Rev. John Coulter, Betsy, was born near Hannastown, Westmoreland county, Pa., in 1787, commenced his studies under Rev. Johnston, completing them at Greersburg Academy and Dr. McMillen's log college. He was ordained by Erie Presbytery Sept. 28, 1815, and installed pastor of Slate Lick and Union churches of Armstrong County. This was his only charge, where he labored for 33 years. On account of infirmities he resigned in 1848, and died two years later in his 73rd year.
