John Smith Dice


Rev. John S. Dice

John Smith Dice was born 12 Nov 1844 in Poland, OH, son of George and Catherine A. Phillips Dice.  He graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Lawrence Co. in 1869, and then enrolled in the Allegheny Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 1873.  


He was ordained as a minister on 21 Apr 1874, and became the pastor of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church of North Beaver township, Lawrence Co.


Rev. Dice married Margaret McQuigg, daughter of Charles and Margaret McQuigg of Allegheny City, PA.  They became the parents of four children:  Charles Lyle Dice, Alice Bovard Dice, James Renfrew Dice and Margaret McQuigg Dice.
