About DAR Activities & Volunteering Chapter History Fort Pitt Block House NSDAR PSSDAR Programs & Meetings Real Daughters | Our members have the opportunity to connect
with others with similar interests, and to work toward shared goals of historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We establish and support lifelong
friendships through activities, events, and philanthropy. All of our 126 members make integral contributions to our
service-oriented chapter. This level of involvement enriches the chapter
greatly. No matter what your interests or skills are, there is an
outlet for your talent. The diverse life
experiences of our women allow us to adapt and to respond to the
needs of today. We are currently accepting applications from enthusiastic prospective members. Any
woman who is 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic
background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American
Revolution, is eligible for membership. We invite you to access the DAR Genealogical Research System,
which is a database containing names of Revolutionary patriots,
whose service between 1775 and 1783 has been established by the NSDAR.
The DAR Genealogical Research System is available online, free for you to use to begin the
search for your own patriot ancestor. Our chapter membership contact will help you complete your DAR application for submission.Even after 120 years, we continue our tradition of service. We look back on our many years of accomplishments, as well as forward to the goals of our future. We want and need the support of every generation of Daughters. The Pittsburgh Chapter welcomes women from Pittsburgh, the surrounding communities, and further. We generally meet on the second Saturday of the month for lunch and educational programs. There are several joint meetings with the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) throughout the year. Please contact us if you would like more information, or would like to attend a meeting. |
