Seeking Robert Formus, died about 1916, from Frackville, and the cemetery near Mahanoy that Gustov (Augusta Henry) Seaman, 5 yrs. old, who died May 7, 1911 is buried. Paternal grandparents were married in Mahanoy as were my great Aunts, Uncle. They immig ated from the Mariempole region of Russia-Poland (now Lithuania) and were German. Belonged to the Anthracite Coal Miners Union (have the original certificate) and most migrated to Cleveland, Ohio by 1913. GGGrandmother Elizabeth Beltz (Belt)was born in Schuylkill between 1806 and 1813 (never were quite sure). This is according to her OBIT in a Lincoln, NE paper. She married George Washington Culp (Kulp). One child, Bejamin Franklin Culp was born around 834, maybe in Lehigh County. They moved to Illinois, Missouri and then settled in Nemaha, Nebraska. Her fathers name may have been John or Johann. Would like to know where I could find more info on either of them. Thanks

I am doing genealogy research into the Jacobs family from Schuylkill County, PA. John Jacobs, Sr. was born about 1732. They resided in Skippack and Perkioming Township (I am not sure of spelling). First wife's name is not known. Second wife's name was Phebe. He had 10 children between his two wives. His son Mark Jacobs was born in Schuylkill County in 1769 or 1770. Searching for my mother-in-law's family. She and my father-in-law were both born and raised in Frackville. It appears that her family is from the Frackville-Shenandoah area. Jacob SHUEY married Maneavia DILLMAN before 1900. She was the dau. of Benjamin DILLMAN and Unknown. Jacob died in 1915. Jacob and Maneavia hade 6 children: George G., Elizabeth (living), Charles, Florence, Emma and Harry. George G. SHUEY born 4-5-1909 was raised by the DILLMAN family in Ringtown after his father's death. George later married Zelma BROSIUS on 12-25-1930. She was the dau. of John BROSIUS and Emma HORN. George and Zelma had 4 dau.: Doris, Jean, Carol Ann a d Janet Lorraine. They lived in Frackville. Carol Ann SHUEY married Joseph GRABUSKIE on 2-1-1961. He is the son of Joseph GRABUSKIE and Edith SMITH. Carol and Joe had 4 children: Joseph, George, Karin and Shane. George Washington BROSIUS was born in 1845. He married Mary KLOCK. He died in 1910 in Frackville. George and Mary had 8 children: John, George, William, Robert, Mary, Earnest, Anna and Emma. Makes me homesick for mountains to read all this. Toronto is very flat. Geographically that is. Very many people here, and I love it. However nothing compares with summers spent at my Grandparents, John and Catherine Wagner, Peter Ringenary, and of course Aunt Ann Ringenary. Some relations still live there. I am having some difficulty w/ family tree because of distance, Am particularly interested in a John(Johann)Regneri(y)married to Eva?? at St. Mauritius possibly, and maybe lived in Fountain Springs late 1800's, And an Angela Regneri(y) Muller? married to a Nicholas Muller, They arrived in Ashland shortly before 1859, When My GGGGgrandfather Nicolaus Peter Regneri(y) was married to (Anna) Catherina Schneider, at St. Mauritius. Possibly they would be interred at the cemetary at the church. Am also looking for information on Isidore St(e)abler, and (Catherine)Regina Deitz, in Fountain Springs at the same time period. I have looked in vain at the 1880PA. survey and cannot find any variation of the name Regneri-changed to Regnery- and then part of family changed spelling to Ringenary. I have info I would be willing to share.

My family can trace our ancestors to Tamaqua in the 1850s. My ancestor Michael Schwartz received a ceremonial appointment to the Tamaqua Cavalry by "order of Captain John Hendricks on Sept 23, 1851. Does anyone know what this organization was about? Doe anyone have any information about this store? I believe sometime after Schwartz sold the store it burned down (maybe in the 1880s or 90s). Any help will be appreciated.

I did blasting work with Harrison Explosives in the county during the 1970's and 1980's. I presently live in Toledo,Ohio doing the same kind of work but in quarries. I miss the area and often think of old friends left behind.
