Angel Food Cake with a Twist Ingredients: Store bought angel food cake mix 1 small can of crushed pineapple 1 envelope of Kool-Aid orange drink mix _____________________________ Using a store bought cake mix [the type with the one-step method works best], also buy a small can of crushed pineapple and one envelope of unsweetened Orange flavor Kool-Aid drink mix. Drain the pineapple juice, saving the juice in a large measuring cup. With the crushed pineapple still in the strainer, take a spatula and squeeze it good to remove as much of the juice as possilbe, adding it to the juice in the measuring cup. Add enough water to the juice to make the required 1¼ cups of liquid for the cake. Add the contents of the one envelope of orange drink mix to the liquid and mix well. Place the liquid and drained pineapple [uncovered] into the fridge for a couple of hours to cool thoroughly [I don't know why, it just seems to work better this way]. Then, it's basically of matter of following the instructions of the cake box for preparation, with the exception of adding the pineapple about halfway thru the mixing process. It makes an incredibly tasty cake that will have folks talking. A variation on this is to use a medium sized jar of marachino cherries, drain the juice off to use as part of the liquid for the cake, along with one envelope of the unsweetened cherry flavored Kool-Aid mix and chop the cherries up pretty fine. This is also really good. ENJOY ! R. W. [Bill] Hughes ©¿©¬ kinseeker4@earthlink.net
