Boiled Raisin Cake

1 cup raisins
1 cup water

Simmer 10 minutes, drain liquid in cup and add enough milk to make 1 cup

1/2 cup Crisco
1  cup sugar
1 egg  
2 cups flour
1 teas. soda
1 teas. salt
1 teas. cinnamon
1/2 teas. allspice
1/4 teas. cloves
1/4 teas. nutmeg.

Again no temp nor time given and mother said it would depend on the pan you 
used.

Again this is exactly as mother, Gretta ASH, nee ZIEGLER, sent this to me 
many years ago.  Was my father's favorite.   Also one of mine.
