Know all men by these presents that I, John W. Rogers of Lake Township in the County of Luzerne and state of Pennsylvania being in ill health but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following viz: I direct all my Just debts and funeral expenses to be fully paid and be satisfied by my executors hereafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

Item 1st--I will direct and bequeath to my beloved wife Celestia E. The use of all my estate both real and personal for her use of all during her natural life instead or in lieu of her dower at law.

Item 2--I will and bequeath to my daughter Louisa S., the wife of Levi Whitesell, the sum of two hundred dollars. My sons Winfield S. And Melville E. Are indebted to me as follows. Winfield S. Is indebted to me one hundred and forty five dollars and Melville is indebted me six hundred and twenty dollars after the above indebtedness of Winfield S. And Melville E. Are fully paid and after the decease of my wife and after two hundred dollars is paid to my daughter Louise S. As above mentioned, I will and desire that all the rest and residue of my estate real and personal be divided equal share and share alike between my children Louisa S., Winfield S., Melville E., Franklin J., Edward B., and Emma if the above mentioned indebtedness is not paid and settled at my decease. I desire said indebtedness be deducted from their share of my estate.

In case there is not personal property sufficient to pay my debts I hereby authorize my executors to sell such portion of my real estate as will be sufficient to pay my debts.

Lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my wife Celestia E. Rogers and my son Winfield S. Rogers Executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I John W. Rogers testator have hereunto set my hand and seal and hereby publish and declare this to be my last will in the presence of the witnesses hereinafter named this fourth day of April A. D. 1889.

I, John W. Rogers the within named testator do hereby make and publish this codicil to my last Will and testament bearing date the 4th day of April A. D. 1889 in the manner following to wit,

I direct that the indebtedness of my two sons Winfield S. And Melville E. Be fully paid before either of them have any share of my estate as the money was used in their partnership business and I hereby revoke the name of Winfield S. As one of the Executors of this my will and substitute and appoint my son Franklin J. To serve in his stead with my wife Celestia.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29 day of April A. D. 1896

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said John W. Rogers and for a codicil in his last will and testament in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have at his request, subscribed our names witness thereto.
