Daniel PENNINGTON To Jacob REISSER

This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven by and between Daniel PENNINGTON of Salisbury Township County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania farmer and Letitia Ann his wife of the one part and Jacob REISSER of the Township County and State aforesaid, Blacksmith of the other part.

WITNESSETH, that the said Daniel PENNINGTON and Letitia Ann his wife for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and thirty two dollars and six cents to them in hand paid by the said Jacob REISSER at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof (the receipt and payment whereof they do hereby acknowledge and there of do acquit and forever discharge the said Jacob REISSER, his heirs executors and administrators by these presents) Have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents Do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Jacob REISSER and to this heirs and assigns a certain tract of Land situate in Salisbury Township and County of Lancaster aforesaid bounded as follows: VIZ, Beginning at a stone in Pequa Creek thence by land of Jacob REISSER party hereto South sixty seven degrees East Eighty six perches to a stone thence by land of John ? WILSON, North twenty six degrees East six perches and twenty four hundreds of a perch to a stone in the tail race of John WILSON'S mill thence by land of Daniel PENNINGTON party hereto North sixty eight degrees West eighty eight perches, Seventy two hundreths of a perch to a stone thence by land of James DICKENSON, South five perches and twenty four hundreths of a perch to the place of beginning Containing three acres and three perches (It being part of the same plantation which David MILLER High Sheriff or the County of Lancaster in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by force and virtue of Venditoni (Exponas) issuing out of the court of Common Pleas for the County of Lancaster aforesaid and according to the direction therein contained did by deed bearing date the fourth day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirty six for the consideration therein mentioned grant, bargain, and sell unto the said Daniel PENNINGTON party hereto and to his heirs and assigns forever as in and by the said in part recited Deed recorded in the Office for recording of deeds in and for Lancaster County in record book G Volume sixth page one hundred and eighty four relation being thereunto had more fully appears. Together with all and singular the houses, outhouses, edifices, and buildings thereon erected and being and all ways, waters, water courses, woods, trees, fences, gardens, orchard, rights, liberties, privileges, advantages, hereditaments, and appurtenances whatsoever there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof And also all the estate, right, title, interest, use, trust, property, possessions, claim and demand whatsoever, of them the said Daniel PENNINGTON and Leticia Ann his wife in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of the same except part of the rail fence now on the Southern boundary of said tract of land.

To Have and to Hold the said tract of Land and except as before excepted the hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released (or mentioned or intended to be) with the appurtenances unto the said Jacob REISSER his heirs and assigns forever and the said Daniel PENNINGTON and Leticia Ann his wife for themselves their heirs executors, and administrators do hereby covenant, promise, grant and agree to and with the said Jacob REISSER his heirs and assigns by these presents that they the said Daniel PENNINGTON and Leticia Ann his wife and their heirs the said tract of Land and (except as before excepted the hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released (or mentioned or intended so to be ) with the appurtenances unto the said Jacob REISSER his heirs and assigns against them the said Daniel PENNINGTON and Leticia Ann his wife and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whosoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof (except as before excepted) shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents in Witness Whereof the said parties to these presents hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals Dated the day and year first above written. Be it remembered that on the twenty ninth day of May A. D. one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County personally came the above named Daniel PENNINGTON and Leticia Ann his wife the grantors above named and in due form of law acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desired that as such, the same may be recorded according to law. She the said Leticia being of lawful age, and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the full contents thereof by me made known her declared that she did voluntary and of her own free will and accord, seal and as her act and deed, deliver the same without any coercion or compulsion of her husband.
