OCTORARA UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CEMETERY

This cemetery is located west of the church-yard. It is enclosed with a stone wall with the entrance gate in the middle of the eastern wall. From this gate an open drive-way extends westward to the center of the cemetery. Several members of Middle Octorara are buried here: among them two Ruling Elders. Our list of burials will begin with the first row of stones to the right as we enter the cemetery. The stones are not placed in as well defined rows as those in the cemeteries of Middle Octorara, but they are nearly enough in line for our purpose, which is not only to record the names of those buried there but also to enable strangers and visitors more easily to locate any desired grave.

This grave-yard, though small in acreage contains, we think, the graves of more Ministers of the Gospel than most other plots of equal size. Perhaps the one most often pointed out to visitors is that of Reverend William Easton, D.D., marked with a slab and shaded by a large boxwood, it is easily found. Equally well known is that of Reverend David Anderson, situated on the left as one enters the gate to the yard. Others will be easily found by consulting the following list of marked graves.
