William J. "Bill" Cook (1872-1942)

William (Bill) J. Cook was born Aug 24, 1872 at Mildred, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Spence in 1896 at Bernice, Pa. Bill died January 22, 1942 at Dushore, PA and is buried at the Old Bernice Cemetery next to his wife. The grave marker says she was born in 1874 and died in 1946. Their four children were:

1. John W. Cook, b Dec 22, 1895, d 1949 in Sayre Pa. and buried near his parents at Old Bernice cemetery

John Cook (1870-1951)

John Cook was born in Mildred, Sullivan County, PA on Sept. 6, 1870. His wife was Sarah J. ______, born about 1874. John died in Sept 1951 in Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. He was a coal miner all his life, working in the mines in Sullivan County PA, and in Moingona, Iowa, as well as Reynoldsville, PA. He was the first of his siblings to be born in the United States.

Charles W. Cook was born Feb 7, 1875 in Mildred, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania and died Aug 15, 1929 in Sayre, PA. He was the eighth child of John and Margaret (Johnston) Cook. He married Janet Ramsey b 1880 in Scotland. She died in Endicott, New York. Their childre were:

Kathryn "Kate" Cook (1877-1929)
Daughter of John Cook and Margaret Johnston

Kate was born Feb 5 1877 In Moingona, Marcy Twp. Boone County, Iowa. She married Henry J. Shaad of Mildred after the family returned to Sullivan County. He was born in 1872 in Pennsylvania; his parents were John Schaad, born Mar 11 1834 in Canton, Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and Elizabeth C. Mosier, born in Pennsylvania. Kate died Dec 25, 1929 in Dushore, PA. Kate and Henry had five children, all born in Mildred per the various census indexes:
