Bebout & Yohe Funeral Home Records
Contributed by Leslie Nelson

Bebout & Yohe Funeral Home in Monongahela for the period 1893 through 1913

1. The original Bebout & Yohe Funeral Home record books are in local history collection of the Monongahela Area Library, Monongahela, PA
2. Names are spelled as written (or as best as can be deciphered)
3. Spelling of place names and causes of death has been standardized except where the meaning is unclear.
4. The books (bound ledgers) are not numbered. The volume numbers were assigned by the transcriber for reference purposes. Page numbers are as they appear in the books.
8. Entries are not strictly chronological (sometimes entries were made weeks or months later)
7. Many records are incomplete.
8. Items in parentheses () are in the original; items in brackets [] are transcriber's additions.
Thanks to Ed Shanahan and the staff at the Monongahela Area Library for their cooperation.

Our family wants to thank you all for posting the Bebout & Yohe Funeral Home Records. One of our family mysteries has been the maiden name of our GGGGrandmother. Her first name was Mary and we knew she was married to our GGGGranfather Jesse Gibbs. Because of your records, their daughter "Sarah Gibbs" records her mother's maiden name as Mary J. Markell. Thanks for helping us solve that mystery.

Best Wishes, Gary Walter
