Location: In Peters Township on corner of Brookwood and Brush Run Rd. in McMurray, Peters Twp., Washington Co., PA.

Longitude: 80 3'41.90"W 

Directions: From Bridgeville, PA: Head southeast on Bank St toward Gregg Ave for 0.6 mi; turn left at Lesnett Rd for 1.6 mi; turn right at McLaughlin Run Rd for 1.2 mi; continue onto McMurray Rd for 3.0 mi; turn left at Brookwood Rd. Cemetery is on left opposite Peters Creek Church. 

Additional directions: Traveling east on E. McMurray Rd., turn right onto Brookwood. Follow Brookwood to the intersection of Brookwood and Brush Run Rd. Cemetery is on left at intersection. 

Background: Brush Run is an historic old cemetery (about 1790) with many old tombstones., with the earliest recorded interment occurring in 1803.  It is the final resting place for:six veterans of the Revolutionary War; -one veteran of the War of 1812; twelve veterans of the Civil War.

Census: This data was collected by the DAR and found in the genealogy section of the Washington PA library. The data is from 1937 so the burial records may not be complete. The DAR listing was published in "Miscellaneous Cemeteries, Washington Co., PA", Vol. 2. Copies available in the genealogical collection at Citizens Library and Washington Law Library, Washington, PA.
