SAMUEL FRYE FAMILY CEMETERY
FREMONT ROAD, FALLOWFIELD TWP., BENTLEYVILLE PA
WASHINGTON CO., PA.

Contributed by "nacs"
Located in Fallowfield Twp. on the old Frye farm from way back, and out 5th St. Extension, Charleroi, PA.
The electric station is right on the road and the cemetery is back behind that on the knoll.

Credit:   In memory of Harold R. Frye, long time member of the Charleroi Area Historical Society, Inc.  During Harold's final years he was the caretaker of the Samuel Frye Family Cemetery and since his passing, it has fell into a neglected state again.

Caretakers are one of the most over-looked persons involved in volunteer and paid positions, especially for church grounds and cemeteries. I can imagine Mr. Frye's silhouetted figure as he tended to the graves and land, fully aware of his adopted responsibilities as "someone who takes good care of a place or thing; someone looking after a place or with responsibility for keeping a place in good repair."  Harold Frye took on this duty because it was an important social, community, and personal task, one done with thoughtful reverence and respect for our ancestors and other people's ancestors.

Anyone wishing to donate to the care in physical labor, resources or contributions may do so by contacting the CAHS.  (from "nacs")
