The graveyard for the Pigeon Creek United Presbyterian Church dates from around 1818 and is on land given in 1817 to the church by Mr. Thomas Hall, Jr. from his father’s original farm which was part of land warranted by John Stevenson. The church is now called Emmanuel United Presbyterian Church
Census: This data was collected by the DAR and found in the genealogy section of
the Washington PA library. The data is from 1937 so the burial records may not
be complete. Published in "Miscellaneous Cemeteries, Washington Co., PA", Vol. 2. Copies available at Citizens Library and Washington Law Library in
WAshington, PA.
More Information: There is a another historic church close by called the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church and Cemetery in
Dunningsville, PA.
NOTE: "Pigeon Creek", as a creek flowing through Washington County, Pennsylvania, lent its name to many churches near or on its banks. Take care to note the denomination of the church you seek because it is easy to confuse the "Pigeon Creek" churches.
