Items from The Washington Observer, Washington Pennsylvania, December 13, 1905, page 7: Waynesburg - Waynesburg, Dec. 12 -- Capt. Elmore A. RUSSELL, of Paris, Texas, commander of the department of Texas, is in town, the guest of his lifelong friend, Samuel HARVEY. Captain RUSSELL is a veteran of the glorious 85th Pa. Volunteers and saw three years service. He is en route to Washington City. The Christian church, which has been refrescoed(?) and remodeled somewhat during the past month will be re-opened for service, Sunday, December 17. Dr. Wallace THARP, pastor of the First Christian church of Allegheny, will preach the sermons on that day. Mrs. A. H. SELLERS, returned from Franklin, where she has been for a fortnight with her sister, Miss Madie JONES, who has been very ill, but is improving slowly. H. F. WARD, of Washington, was a caller Saturday. Mr. WARD moves into the court house January 1. [NOTE: Was he a politician? Probably means Greene Co Court House.] Mrs. M. R. TRAVIS, of West street, returned from Washington Friday evening. Miss Carrie LEWIS returned home from Washington Friday evening. Miss Minnie PHILLIPS is visiting friends in Washington.
