During migration, families often moved from eastern Maryland through Washington County Maryland before heading north in or west-north into Pennsylvania. Some families stopped at Washington County Maryland for a period of time before joining other relatives in PA.

Each coordinator has contributed much to the preservation of Washington County genealogical information/history.
