“Charleroi Mail”, April 3, 1948 ANNIE M. AMES DEEMS Annie M. Ames Deems, 83, West Pike Run Township, died at her home Friday, April 2, 1948, at 4:45 p.m. following an illness of a few days of pneumonia. She was the daughter of Arthamer Ames and Marcia Griffith Ames and was born December 1, 1859. She was married to Ellsworth Deems April 3, 1889. He preceded her in death nine years ago. Mrs. Deems was a member of the Clover Hill Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Raymond Deems, Coal Center, R. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Reed, Cokeburg, and Mrs. Amanda Frederick, with whom she made her home; a brother, John Ames, Coal Center; a sister, Mrs. Elnora Sharrer, Daisytown; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
