Melvin Edward Horner. He was born September 14, 1881 in Wellsburg, Brooke Co., WV, the only son of Obediah Marshall and Arra Bell Baker Horner.  He moved to the Claysville area of Washington Co., PA with his parents and sisters about the late 1890's or early 1900.  This photo was taken about 1910 when he was 19 years old.  
Melvin married Bernice Eliza Sims, November 4, 1915 in Washington, PA.  They had three children, Bernard Alvin, Thelma Gertrude, (my mother) and Ellis Marian Horner.  
Melvin was a farmer and worked for the township road department most of his life.  He died July 30, 1965 in Washington, PA.
