In the name of God, Amen. I, Peter Bebout of North Strabane Township Washington County Pa. having by the mercy of God the proper use of my reason, knowing the shortness of my time on earth, do make and publish this my last will and testament revoking and making all former wills by me at any time heretofore made: and first I give my spirit to God who gave it - And 2nd as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to interest me with I do dispose of as follows.
First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executor.
And 2nd I will and bequeath to my daughter, Caroline S. Bebout, one cow, one bead [sic] and bedding. To my son Herman H. Bebout one horse, saddle and bridle. To my wife Isabell one third of the ballance of my personal estate she having the priviledge of taking it at the appraisement. Also to my wife Isabell all the issues and profits of the real estate I may have at my deceas, so long as she remains my widow. And at her death or marriage the said real estate to be sold and eaqually divided between my eight children, to wit, Mary Jane, Susan, Margaret, Isabell, Joshua, Stephen, Caroline, and Herman to share and share alike, the remaining two thirds of my person estate to be sold as soon after my deceas as possible and eaqually divided between my above named children share and share alike. And to effect this my intention I do hereby rest in my executor full power and authority to dispose of my real estate in fee simple or otherwise in as full and large a manner in every respect as I could do myself if living. And I do hereby make and ordain my son Ira Bebout Executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I Peter Bebout the testator have to this my last will set my hand and seal this twenty-fifth day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.

Be it remembered that on this 21st day of April A.D. 1860 Before me H.J. Vankirk Register for the probate of wills and granting letters of administration in and for said county came James S. Scott Esq. one of the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of Peter Bebout decd who after being duly qualified according to law deposeth and saith that he was present at the execution of said will and saw the said testator sign his name thereto, that he heard him acknowledge the same as and for his last will and testament, that at his request, in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness David McClure Jr. he subscribed his name thereto as witness, And at the time of so doing the said testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief.
