I John Murphy of Fallowfield Township, Washington County Pennsylvania do make do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills made by me at any time heretofore. And as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows. First I direct that my three children by my first wife whose names are as follows Viz William Murphy, Elizabeth Carmack and Joshua Murphy do receive each the sum of one dollar. And I do further direct that the whole of my property both personal and real be and remain the absolute property of my beloved wife as long as she remains my widdow, but in case she should marry or at her death then my whole property to be equally divided among her children by me. Viz Sarah Ann Crow, Eliza Jane Rigs, Franklin Murphy, Harrison Murphy, Mary Margaret Hoogins, Hannah Ruth Murphy, Harriet Elmyra Linn and I do further direct that there be no gifts or presents made to any of the children but all the property to remain as it is. And I do further direct that Azariah Crow and Joseph A Newkirk be the persons to see the above will executed. In [witness] whereof I John A Murphy the testator have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this 2nd day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five. Washington County SS Be it remembered that on the 20th day of Oct. 1855
Before me John Meley Register for the Probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for the said County came Jos. A Newkirk and Robert B Barr the subscribing witnesses to the will of John Murphy dec'd who after being duly qualified according to the law depose and day that they were present at the execution of this same will and saw the testator sign the same. That at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses that they heard the testator publish pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument and for his last will and testament and at the time thereof he was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.

Oct 20th AD 1855 Azariah Crow renouncing as per paper filed. Letters testamentary with copy of Will & Probate thereon issued to Jos A Newkirk the other Executor within named who on the same day was duly sworn. John Meley Reg.
