“In the Name of God Amen. I John Watson of West Bethlehem Township Washington County and state of Pennsylvania being of sound mind and memory Blessed be Almighty God for the same, Do make and publish this my last Will & testament.
Item I Recommend my body to be decently buried and my spirit to him who gave it.
Item I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Anne all of my real and personal estate of whatever kind to be hers as long as she lives.
Item I will that after the death of my wife Mary Anne that all of my estate both real and personal be sold and equally divided amongst my eight children to wit, James, David, Harriet, Sarah Jane, John, Henry, Robert, and Samuel.
Item I give and bequeath to my grandson Franklin P. Garrett one dollar when my estate is distributed to my heirs.
I do nominate and appoint John Lewis and Hiram Bane to be the Executors of this my last Will and testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in presence of the witnesses named below this twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six.

Signed sealed declared and published by the said John Watson as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto - John Lewis, Hiram Bane”
Washington County Be it remembered that on the 12th day of September AD 1856 before me John Meloy, Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for said County came John Lewis and Hiram Bane witnesses to the above Will of John Watson decd. Who after being duly qualified according to law, depose and say that they were present at the execution of this same Will and saw the testator sign his name thereto, that at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other they subscribed their names as witnesses, that they heard the Testator publish pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument, as and for his last Will & testament, and at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief. - John Lewis, Hiram Bane
And affirmed to subscriber before me John Meloy Register
Sep 12th AD 1856 Letters Testamentary with a copy of the Will Attached issued to John Lewis and Hiram Bane the Executors named in the Will who on same day were duly qualified - John Meloy, Register
