Piatt Family Cemetery

Submitted by Susan Jaffer

I visited this very old, extremely overgrown cemetery today. Only one stone is still standing, although a neighbor told me there are fieldstone markers in the vicinity.

The remaining stone, an erect monument, marks the graves of James Piatt (pronounced PY-att), his wife, Mary (1825 1895) and their children: Kitty (1857 1858), Lyman (1859 1884), and Rebecca (1864 1878). The neighbor said the cemetery was called the Piatt Cemetery.  The cemetery is located on the Tannery Road, not far from Clemo Corners.
