Children of the American Revolution

Sponsored by the Washington Crossing DAR
Organized on April 5, 1895 in Washington, D.C., the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution was incorporated on April 11, 1895, and then reincorporated perpetually on April 2, 1919. Under the laws of the District of Columbia, the headquarters of N.S.C.A.R. was affixed as the City of Washington. The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution is the oldest patriotic organization for youth in the county. Membership is open to descendants of patriots of the American Revolution from birth to age 21. Meetings and activities are planned for all ages with special consideration given to younger members.
The newly reorganized Washington Crossing Society of C.A.R. began with two members. Each year the society performs a Flag Day Ceremony at the David Library of the American Revolution. The Society has grown to 39 members ranging in age from 4 to 21.
