MacFarlane, John B.

John B. MacFarlane, 72, 149 MacIntosh St., New Glasgow, died Monday, Nov. 23 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Port Hastings, he was a son of the late Murdock and Catherine (MacDougall) MacFarlane. He lived in Pictou before moving to New Glasgow 30 years ago. He was a retired employee of the CNR with more than 40 years service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and an adherent of St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. He is survived by two sons, Alex, New Glasgow; Ian, Ottawa, Ont.; a sister, Sarah (Mrs. Laughlin MacDougall), Port Hastings; two brothers, Rev. Alexander, Antigonish; Dougall, Ottawa. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Catherine MacEachen; a sister, Mary; an infant brother, Ian. Funeral mass was held Thursday, Nov. 26 in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, New Glasgow.
