BLACKWOOD, Florence Alva - 79, Birchill Senior Citizens Apartments, formerly of Acadia Avenue, Stellarton, died December 7, 1998, at home. Born in New Glagsow, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (MacInnis) Strickland. She was a resident of Stellarton for most of her life and had been a resident of Birchill Senior Citizens for the past 19 years. She was a former employee of the Canada Envelope Factory, Stellarton. Having previously worked for the former Copper Kettle Restaurant, New Glasgow, and the J.D. Matheson Co. Ltd., Stellarton. She was an adherent of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. Surviving are daughters, Sandra Marsh, Hamilton, Ont.; Faye (Mrs. Rick Cameron), Stellarton; son, Wayne, Stoneycreek, Ont.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, Barry; brothers, Oscar, Stan, Ira, Louie; sisters, Effie, Emma, Elsie, Glen. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral 2 p.m. Friday, both in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, Rev. Foster Jenkins officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations to any charity.
