EARLE, Elda Jane - 72, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Seventh Street, Trenton, died in the Aberdeen Hospital on Friday, January 15, 1999. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Priscilla (Cameron) Arthur. She was a retired sales clerk from Zellers. She was a member of First United Church, Trenton. She also was a member of the UCW, volunteer for Victoria Day Road Races for 35 years, C.I. instructor Trenton Air Cadets, life member Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, Trenton. She is survived by her husband Joseph, Trenton; daughters, Barbara Carrigan (John), Westville; Patricia Polley (Grant), Trenton; Jo-Ann Luddington (Tom), Bridgeville; Mary Ann Humphreys (Jim), Little Harbour; Karen, Trenton; sons, Robert (Marilyn), Dartmouth; Douglas, New Minas; Vernon (V.J.) (Jane), Trenton; sisters, Vivian Arthur, New Glasgow; Bessie Breen (Russell), New Glasgow; brothers, George (Elsie), New Glasgow; Harold (Irene), Moncton; 18 grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters in infancy, Elaine and Frosty; grandsons, Blaine Polley and Burton Luddington. Visitation will be today, January 16, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service will be Sunday, January 17, at 3 p.m., in First United Church, Trenton, Rev. Stephen Fram officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
