MACLEOD, Vernon Franklyn
MacLEOD, Vernon Franklyn - 70, 2015 Prince St., Truro, died May 9, 1993, in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Salt Springs, Pictou County, he was a son of the late William I. and Margaret (MacLeod) MacLeod. A veteran of the Second World War, he served with the Canadian Armoured Corps. He was a former mechanic with the Department of Transportation, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro and Fairview United Church, Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Morris; daughter, Kimberley, Halifax; brother, John M., Salt Springs; three sisters, Marion (Mrs. William MacLean), Gairloch, Pictou County; Irene (Mrs. Murray Favier), Bible Hill; Janet (Mrs. Robert Campbell), Truro. He was predeceased by a brother, Ivan; sister, Eva MacLennan. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, where a legion service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday and where funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Murray Favier officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook, Pictou County. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
