MacCULLOCH, Daniel William
MacCULLOCH, Daniel William - 79, Blue Mountain, Pictou Co., died peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 1999, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Meiklefield, Pictou Co., on April 5, 1919, he was a son of the late John A. and Anna (Ross) MacCulloch. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain and had served as a member of the board of managers. He was past noble grand of Moore Lodge 17, Thorburn, of which he had been a member for 52 years. He was the first chairman of the Blue Mountain and District Fire Department. He was caretaker for the Blue Mountain Cemetery for a number of years. He was a member of the North Nova Highlanders of the Second World War. He was employed with Tidewater Construction for several years and was a longtime employee with the Department of Transportation from where he retired in 1984. He is survived by his only son, Terry and wife Dianne; grandchildren; Justin and Jyl, all of Greenwood; brothers, Jim (Annie), Riverton; Allison (Mae), Plymouth; sisters, Mary Ross, Blue Mountain; Annie Cameron, Greenwood; Edith (Calder) Livingston, Greenwood; Amy (Mort) Stewart, Canning. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Scott Fraser. His remains are resting at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow with visitation today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday from the Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain, Rev. Jim McVeigh officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. The Moore Lodge 17, Thorburn will meet at the funeral home today at 6:30 p.m. to conduct their service. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Knox Presbyterian Church, the Blue Mountain Fire Department or to a charity of one's choice.
