O'CONNOR, Charles Copeland (Charlie) - 70, Little Harbour Road, formerly of Kenzieville, died December 4, 1997, at home. Born in Piedmont, Pictou Co., he was a son of the late Jeremiah Mansfield and Annie Catherine (MacDonald) Cameron. He was a member of Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Kenzieville. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in England (1943-1945) and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1968. He then worked at Trenton Works and after retirement, was self-employed until his recent illness. He was a former member of Grand Lodge F&AM and Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons, both in New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Anna Mae Robertson; daughter, Brenda (Mrs. Ricky Swain), Little Harbour Road; sisters, Rose Brightman, Trenton; Molly (Mrs. Ralph Cyr), Salem; Lillian (Mrs. Gary Shaw), Greenhill; Faye (Mrs. John Visser), Sutherlands River; brothers, Cyril O'Connor, Piedmont; Jerry O'Connor, Anderson Mountain; Hugh Cameron, Sylvester; three grandsons; two great-grand-children. He was predeceased by sisters, Louise, Kathleen; brother, Philip; granddaughter, Mellisa May. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow, service 6:45 p.m. today, both in P&K MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Donald MacLeod officiating. Burial in Kenzieville Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
