IRVING, Mary L. - 91, Marsh Street, New Glasgow, died July 25, 1997, at home. Born in Rossfield, Barneys River, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late John B. and May (Ross) Irving. She was a graduate of the former Provincial Normal College. She retired from teaching school in 1971, having taught in Hants, Colchester, Guysborough and Pictou counties. She was a member of Barneys River Presbyterian Church and Golden Link Rebekah Lodge 2. Surviving are sister, Helen (Mrs. W.D. Cameron), New Glasgow; nieces, Margaret Cameron, Elizabeth Cameron, Lois (John) Thompson, Bona (Ted) Lambert; nephew, Donald (Rosemary) Cameron. She was predeceased by sister, Elizabeth in childhood. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the P&K MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Alex MacDonald officiating. Burial in Kenzieville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of choice.
