DARROCH, Sidney - 82, Westville, died May 19, 1993, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Allan and Hannah (Courts) Darroch. He was a member of St. Paul United Church and church choir. He was a member of Maple Leaf Lodge 21, Knights of Pythias and was inducted into the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame in September 1990. He worked most of his life in the coal mines and was also a self-employed carpenter. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. James Skidmore), Mississauga, Ont.; Marion (Mrs. George Henderson), Westville; three sisters, Viola (Mrs. Sam MacDonald), Alma, Pictou County; Esther (Mrs. Vernon Demings), Audrey (Mrs. Alex Doggett), both of Greenhill; two brothers, John, Westville; James, Hopewell; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; an aunt. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Stewart; two sisters, Mae Marshall, one in infancy; four brothers, Andrew, George, Allie, one in infancy; grandson, Mark Boudreau. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's United Church, Rev. Joseph Lafave officiating. Burial will be in St. Philip's Cemetery.
