Weir, John Livingstone - 75, 34 Acadia Ave., Stellarton, died Saturday in Sutherland-Harris
Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late David and Harriet {MacKenzie) Weir. In his younger years, he was an avid tennis player, winning both the Pictou
County Tennis Association junior and senior championships for several years. He was widely
known as a magician and entertainer for local events. During the war years, he served in Canada and overseas as a member of one of the Canadian Army Show Units. He works for CNR retiring in 1970. He was an adherent of Sharon St. John United Church. He is survived by a sister, Velma (Mrs. Ian Ross), Stellarton; a nephew, David Ross, Dartmouth. He was predeceased by a sister Isabel. The body is in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, visiting 2-4 7-9 p.m.
today, where funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. George Barrett officiating. Burial will be
in Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made to VON, Cancer Society, or any charity.
