A correspondent in Stewiacke sends us the following:
On Monday March 2nd, the citizens of the town of Stewiacke were surprised to learn the Mrs.
Margaret Weir, beloved wife of J.H. Weir, formerly of Roger's Hill, Pictou Co., had suddenly
passed away at the age of 78 years. Mrs. Weir had been enjoying her usual good health until the day before her death, when she was seized with a stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied. Although Mrs. Weir came to Stewiacke only three years ago, her sterling character and undaunted energy, won for her many friends who mourn her sudden death.
The funeral service was conducted by her pastor, the Rev. A.H. Campebell, and was largely
attended. Mr. Weir who is also highly esteemed, and his grand-daughter, Mrs. Barry Falton,
have the sincere sympathy of their many friends in Stewiacke.
