The Death occurred on Saturday of William Weir, a respected and well known citizen of New
Glasgow. He had not been enjoying very good health, but was only resiously sick a few days
when he passed away. He was in his 77th year. He is survived by his widow, three daughters
and one son. The Rev. Andrew Weir of P.E.I., is at present home. The daughters are Mrs.
Houston, of Saskatchewan, Mrs. King, of Rhode Island, and Mrs. Meyers, of Malagash. The
later is at present home. The deceased was a member of the Albion Lodge of Freemasons, and
First Presbyterian Church. The funeral takes place today from his residence, West Side, to
Riverside Cemetery. The greater part of his life the late William Weir spent in New Glasgow,
and his passing marks a break in the link that bound the present with the past.
