bituary

"Mrs. Harold A. MacLean"
There passed away at the Prince Edward Island Hospital, Charlotetown on Dec. 28th. 1949, Mrs. Harold A. MacLean of Little Sands. Some twelve days previous she had entered the hospital, and her friends did not consider her case serious, and her passing away came as a great shock to the community. Mrs. MacLean was formerly Sadie May Stewart, daughter of Mrs. Isabel Stewart and the late Angus M. Stewart of High Bank. She was in her 60th year.
Mrs. MacLean was one of the finest of Christian women, and in the Little Sands United Church, one of the most loved and faithful members. In the Sunday school she was for many years a teacher. In the W.M.S. she was a faithful officer and member. For nearly twenty-five years she served the church as its faithful and capable organist. Her palce in the left and work of the church will be hard to fill. The many beautiful flowers on her casket were silent tributes to the respect held for her.
She is survived by her husband, an aged mother, three sisters, Florence, Mrs. Howard Bell, White Sands, PEI; Marion, Mrs. Charles Richards, Abney, PEI, and Helen, Mrs. Edward MacLean, Brookline, Mass, who was with her sister when she passed away; three brothers, Lawrence Stewart, Vancouver, B.C., Robert Stewart, Vancouver, B.C., and Angus M. Stewart, High Bank.
The funeral was held on Dec. 30, and after a brief service at her late home, the remains were removed to the church where a large congregation had gathered. Her pastor, Rev. W.I. Green, conducted the service and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved. The following were pallbearers: John w. MacLean, N.C. Stewart, J.H. MacLean, J. D. MacLennan, Archibald MacLean and M.A. MacNeill. She was laid to rest in Little Sands Cemetery."
