WHITE, Herbert James
Herbert James White, 72, 145 Rutherford St., Stellarton, died Thursday, February 22 *1990*, in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late James and Pearl (Whytewood) White. He worked for Acadia Coal Company for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with North Novas. He was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion branch 28, Stellarton, and was affiliated with the Anglican Church in Stellarton. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen E. MacAulay; two sons, Robert Kearns, Utah; Leonard, Hopewell; two daughters, Caroline, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Dawn (Mrs James Hayman), Trenton; eight brothers, Frank, Springhill; Jack, Toronto; William, Priestville; Robert, Clifford, Joseph, Kenneth, James, all of Stellarton; a sister, Mrs. Alice MacDonald, Stellarton; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Irene; a brother, Brenton; a sister, Pearl Cleary; two grandsons.. Funeral was held Saturday, February 24 *1990* in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Abercrombie. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma.
