J. David Cummings, 69, 80 Acadia Ave., Stellarton, died Sunday, February 18 *1990*, in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late David and Hilda (Fleming) Cummings. He was a Stellarton resident all of his life and was an avid fisherman and hunter. A well-known ball player in his younger years, he worked in the Albion and MacGregor mines in Stellarton and Thorburn. He was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Osborne; three sons, Nason (Al), Bras d'Or; Colin, Amherst; David, Stellarton; two daughters, Claudia (Mrs James Campbell), Bedford; Joanne, at home; three brothers Bill, Ontario; Robert, Stellarton; Willard, Westville; five sisters, Evelyn, (Mrs Archie Fraser), Whitehill; Marie Taylor, Stellarton, Mary (Mrs Grant Rundle), Westville; Audrey, Ontario; Isabel (Mrs Ed Megeney), Westville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral was held Tuesday February 20, *1990*, from the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery, Springville.
