MacDONALD, Alverda Barbara - 84, Glencoe, Pictou Co., died August 30, 1997, in Aberdeen
Hospital, New Glasgow. Born at Cummings Mountain, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late
William A. and Margaret (Dunbar) MacDougall. She was a resident of Glencoe all of her married
life. She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, St. Pauls, Pictou Co. Surviving are
daughters, Beverly (Mrs. Alan Lawrence), Stewiacke; Nancy (Mrs. John Cobby), Georgetown,
Ont.; Barbara Carpenter, Stellarton; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister, Irene (Mrs. E.W.
Bishop), Newton, N.J.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband,
Fredrick J.; sisters, Theresa Elizabeth (Betty) Dill, Audry Thompson; brothers, Eon, Fred. Funeral 2
p.m. today in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Donald Shepard officiating. Burial in Sunny Brae Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Aberdeen Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home.
