MacLEAN, Donald Charles - 79, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Northumberland Veterans' Unit, Pictou, formerly of Little Harbour Road and Murnoe Street, Trenton, died August 30, 1997, in the veterans' unit. Born in Orangedale, Inverness Co., he was a son of the late Donald Charles and Georgie (Arbuckle) MacLean. He was employed at the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton, until his retirement and was also a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1939-1945 in Labrador during the Second World War. Surviving are daughters, Gloria (Mrs. Cyril Phalen), Bonnie (Mrs. John Codlen), Georgie MacLean, Sarnia, Ont.; Marcella Mac-Lean, Little Harbour Road; sons, David, Emmanuel, Sarnia, Ont.; Danny, Halifax; William (Bill), Little Harbour Road; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcella May (Sally); daughter, Debbie; son, Donald; half-brothers, Albert Mac-Lean, John and Bill MacKinnon; grandson, Mark. Funeral 2 p.m. today in P&K MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow, Rev. Robert Innes officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity.
